For nearly 50 years, Lucie Saint-Clair has embodied and reinvented Parisian chic. Propelled to the brand’s Artistic Direction, Clément Pellerin, a young hairdresser full of talent, imagines and designs new collections for ever more daring and demanding women. Let’s discover the trends of the year and his professional secrets with him.

Maxi: What are the cut trends this year?

Clément Pellerin: The bob and the wob. The bob is a straight or layered square, which, available in a wavy version, becomes a wob: bob + wavy = wob.

Another very trendy hairstyle is wavy. These are pretty ripples along the length for a natural effect that can be worn from short to long.

Maxi: What are the key colors of 2015?

C.P: It’s tortoiseshell, a highlighting, and relief that we can decline to infinity according to the base color.

Then there are several new color designations. Red highlights are back in force. This year, we mix red with brown or blond. Suddenly, it gives a “broux” or a “bloux”. Then the “blinger” is a blond warmed up with a caramel shade: blond + ginger = blinker.

Maxi: And what are the hairstyles of the season?

C.P: It all depends on the occasion. We have more and more requests for very classic chic and timeless hairstyles.

In another spirit, bohemian chic hairstyles are also trendy and easier to wear.

Maxi: Red is making a big comeback among trends. Is it suitable for all women?

C.P: It’s a magnificent color, especially since it’s been our specialty for 50 years. But beware, red is a color that requires a lot of maintenance because it fades very quickly. A visit to the hairdresser every month is essential! Then red is much better for fair-skinned women. Likewise, this color has the advantage of reviving the complexion without makeup.
